Released in 2018, Strata™ is a breakout star from the Indie Hops breeding program. It is the offspring of a Perle hop (open-pollinated) and has captured the attention of brewers worldwide. Strata is known for its multi-layered aroma profile that changes throughout the brewing process, making it a versatile powerhouse for whirlpool and dry hopping.

Flavor & Aroma Profile Strata delivers a heavy hit of Passion Fruit, Dried Mango, and Fresh Berry. What sets it apart is the underlying layer of “Dank” herbal notes and Cannabis-like undertones, complemented by a clean Citrus (Grapefruit) finish. It is often described as having a “layered” aroma—fruit on top with a complex, savory herbal base.

Brewing Performance

• Aroma: Intense and highly pungent. It retains its fruity brightness even after heavy hopping.

• Versatility: While it has a high alpha acid content, it is prized almost exclusively for its aromatic contributions in late-stage hopping.
