Magnum Hops – Germany
Neutral flavor and aroma, clean bittering.
Magnum hops is a high alpha variety was bred in 1980 at Hüll Hop Research Center in Germany and is known for its extremely large and heavy cones.
It produces good yields, and like many of the Hüll varieties, Hallertauer Magnum has a high tolerance to disease.
Aroma/Flavor: Clean, Bitter, sometimes described as Citrus
Country of Origin: Germany
Hop Type: Bittering, without strong aroma.
Alpha Acid: 12 – 14%
Possibility of Substitution: Columbus, Nugget, Hallertau Taurus
Typically used for: Pales, IPAs and German lagers.
