Black malt is barley malt that has been roasted to the point of carbonizing.
This malt provides intensely dark color and acrid, ashy, roasted undertones to the flavour of beer.
Strong, burnt coffee flavour. Dark brown colour.
EBC: 1100 – 1400
Usage: 3% – 5% of grist.
