Isolated from the original Hornindal Kveik strain from Grodås, Norway, QL-K001 produces a very clean profile when fermented between 30-35°C (86-95°F). This strain is one of the best ways to brew a refreshing lager-like ale in a hot climate without the lagering process.
This strain is good for brewing Pseudo-lagers, West Coast IPAs, American PAs.

This yeast might seem expensive but it produces really good results with no off flavors even when brewed at room temperatures, which here, in Thailand, for me are plus 30 degrees C. It is a very quick way to produce a lager style beer . Since the first time I tried a dried Kveik yeast to make lager in a hot environment I was very impressed with the results. TBS kindly gave me a sample of QL-K008 Stranda Kveik liquid yeast to try and I was so impressed with the results that I only use Quest labs liquid yeast now. I mainly use QL-K001 and find primary fermentation completes in 3 days, I then use my latest brewing QL-K001 yeast (usually one day after pitching) as a bottle conditioning yeast. This is a great yeast for use in a hot climate and I strongly recommend you should try it.
